For all four licenses, we confirmed: LLC. A sole proprietorship works in every state and needs no company filing.

Code 79-29-117(1)), and nothing in the professional LLC article requires a person rendering professional services to use a professional LLC unless another Mississippi law requires it (79-29-903(2)). The Professional Corporation Act says the same for professional corporations (79-10-11(3)). Both acts define a professional service as one that may lawfully be rendered only by a person licensed or otherwise authorized by a Mississippi licensing authority (79-29-902(g), 79-10-5(g)). A professional LLC must say so in its certificate of formation and state its professional services (79-29-903(1)), and its name must contain "professional limited liability company," "P.L.L.C." or "PLLC" (79-29-908). A professional corporation's articles must say it is a professional corporation and state its professional services (79-10-11(1)), and its name must contain "professional corporation," "professional association," P.C., PC, P.A. or PA (79-10-21). An ordinary LLC is available because no counseling statute or Licensed Professional Counselors Board rule requires a professional entity. Whether counseling qualifies for a professional LLC or professional corporation is not settled: the board's rules say it has authority to ensure that no one practices counseling who is not licensed or exempt (Rule 3.1), but the penalty and injunction rules they rely on are tied to holding out under the title "Licensed Professional Counselor" or psychotherapist (Rules 7.3 and 7.4). The Mississippi State Board of Examiners for Licensed Professional Counselors can confirm.
Marriage and family therapists: A Mississippi LLC may carry on any lawful business, subject to laws that govern a particular business (Miss. A person without a license from the Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists "shall not practice marriage and family therapy" (73-54-7), so marriage and family therapy is a professional service and a professional LLC or professional corporation is available, as is an ordinary LLC. The board's rules contain no business entity requirement.
Social workers: A Mississippi LLC may carry on any lawful business, subject to laws that govern a particular business (Miss. Code 79-29-117(1)), and nothing in the professional LLC article requires a person rendering professional services to use a professional LLC unless another Mississippi law requires it (79-29-903(2)). A person without a license from the Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapists "shall not practice social work" (73-53-7(1)); the same section allows a corporation or other business entity to advertise social work services only when licensees provide them. Social work is a professional service, so a professional LLC or professional corporation is available, as is an ordinary LLC. The board's rules contain no business entity requirement.
Psychologists: A Mississippi LLC may carry on any lawful business, subject to laws that govern a particular business (Miss. Code 79-29-117(1)), and nothing in the professional LLC article requires a person rendering professional services to use a professional LLC unless another Mississippi law requires it (79-29-903(2)). Practicing psychology without a license is a misdemeanor (73-31-23(1)(a)), so psychology is a professional service and a professional LLC or professional corporation is available, as is an ordinary LLC. The Board of Psychology rules contain no business entity requirement.
